The Australian continent is located in Oceania between the Indian Ocean
and the South Pacific Ocean.
Australia has a large number of international airports.
The busiest are
Sydney and Melbourne. Perth also gets many flights from Asia and
Europe and has direct flights to New Zealand and Africa.
Other International Airports include Brisbane, Cairns and Darwin.
Hobart (Tasmania) only has international flights to and from New
Zealand. Adelaide and Port Hedland only have international flights to
and from Bali.
Ironically one place you can't arrive at directly from overseas is Canberra,
the national capital.
Coming from Asia, Europe, or North America there are lots of competing
airlines and a wide variety of air fares.
Unfortunately there is no way you can avoid those grueling distances.
Due to Australia's International popularity if you want to come here
for the summer (Christmas time) you will need to book well in
advance - flights are often heavily booked flights.
